Return, Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Amalgamated Security Services Limited, quality and customer satisfaction guide everything we do. Our goal is to ensure each online course on the ASSL Learning Management System (LMS) is fit for its intended purpose and aligns with applicable standards and regulations.

1) Overview

This policy explains how refunds, cancellations, returns, and credit notes work for digital products delivered via our eLearning platform. Because access to exams, materials, and training videos is provided electronically and often immediately, certain items are non-refundable (see Section 3).

2) Refunds (Eligibility & Process)

  • 10-Day Cooling-Off (Before Access): You may request a full refund within 10 days of purchase provided you have not accessed any course materials (including streaming video, PDFs, quizzes, or downloadable assets).
  • After 10 Days or Once Accessed: If your request is made after 10 days from purchase or once materials have been accessed, then—if approved at ASSL’s discretion—you will receive a credit note for the course fee (see Section 4).
  • Non-Refundable Digital Items: Exams, materials, and videos are not eligible for refunds due to immediate electronic access (see Section 3).
  • How to Request: Email lms@assl.com with your full name, order number, course title, purchase date, and reason for the request.

Refund Timing & Method

  • If you paid by credit card, approved refunds are credited back to the same card.
  • If you paid by cash, LINX, bank transfer, or cheque, approved refunds are processed within 10 business days.

3) Non-Refundable Digital Content (eLearning)

To protect digital content and due to instant access, the following items are not eligible for refunds or returns:

  • Exams and assessments
  • Course materials (e.g., PDFs, slides, handouts)
  • On-demand/streaming videos
    This applies whether content was downloaded, streamed, or otherwise accessed.

4) Credit Notes (When Refunds Don’t Apply)

  • If a refund is not available (e.g., after the 10-day period or once content has been accessed) and your request is approved, ASSL may issue a credit note equal to the course fee.
  • Validity: Credit notes expire 12 months from the date of issue.
  • Redemption: Credit notes may be applied to a future online course on the ASSL LMS and are not exchangeable for cash.

5) Course Cancellation by ASSL

ASSL may cancel or reschedule a course due to unforeseeable circumstances (e.g., platform outage, instructor unavailability, force majeure).

  • If we cancel and cannot provide a suitable alternative, all tuition and fees paid for that course will be refunded to the original payment method (typically the same credit card).
  • We will notify affected learners using the email on file.

6) Returns (Digital Goods)

Because all course content is delivered electronically, returns do not apply to exams, materials, or videos on the ASSL LMS.

7) Payments, Currency & Fees

  • Payment Due: Full payment is required at the time of purchase.
  • Accepted Cards: MasterCard, and Visa.
  • Currency: Tuition is billed in US Dollars (USD). Your bank or card issuer may apply currency conversion or international transaction fees, which you are responsible for.

8) Technical Access Issues

If you experience technical problems that prevent access to your online course:

  1. Contact lms@assl.com promptly with your order number and a description (screenshots help).
  2. We’ll troubleshoot and restore access where possible.
  3. If access cannot reasonably be restored and no materials were accessed, we may, at our discretion, refund or issue a credit note.

9) Duplicate Charges & Errors

If you were charged twice or charged in error, contact lms@assl.com. Verified duplicate or erroneous charges will be reversed or refunded to the original method of payment.

10) Promotions, Coupons & Discounts

Promotional codes, loyalty rewards, and special discounts are time-limited, non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and may be changed or discontinued without notice. If a purchase made with a promotion is refunded, any refunded amount reflects the discounted price actually paid.

11) Abuse, Fraud & Chargebacks

We reserve the right to deny refunds, revoke access, or suspend accounts in cases of abuse, suspected fraud, excessive chargebacks, or violations of our Terms & Conditions or Acceptable Use policies.

12) Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago and should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
